CAMERON DESIGNED THIS RACE TO BE

BRIGHT, FUN, SILLY & HONEST.

Whether you run, walk, or stroll along the course

with your kids, this day is sure to be exciting!

NO JUDGMENTS, NO STIGMA, JUST FUN FOR ALL!

The SpeakUp5k serves as a primary vehicle to drive the SpeakUp

message into the community in a powerful, positive, and active way.

The purpose of the race is for people and families to come together and

“Speak Up” for those who are suffering, for those who are battling

depression and anxiety, and to challenge people to visibly

and vocally support one another.

AS CAMERON SAID, "LET'S FINISH THIS!"

September 10, 2022

Started in 2014, SpeakUp5k Richmond is the flagship event of the CKG Foundation.
This race continues to grow as the community embraces
Cameron’s dream of hosting a 5k where people come together to shed light
on mental illness in a positive and active way.

This year, race day will be virtual. CKG is planning a fun-filled race week including
videos highlighting fun zones and our sponsors. We will still have an in-person packet pickup

experience. Just because it’s virtual doesn’t mean it has to be solo!

Many smaller groups are forming around
Richmond to run or walk together on race day.

Start a team today and make it a fun morning for the
whole neighborhood!

FROM OUR COMMUNITY

THANK YOU for a wonderful experience at the SpeakUp 5k this morning! The course was beautiful, the race was well organized and the people were so friendly! I had a great time and will be back next year in support of this most worthy cause!

UNIQUE

WHAT MAKES THE SPEAKUP5K UNIQUE?

funzone.png

Cameron planned fun zones throughout the race to keep participants motivated and smiling. Don’t be surprised if you run through a “Rave” fun zone or get squirted with a water gun. A signature part of the race is “Quote Alley,” where Cameron’s own sketches and quotes are sure to inspire participants.

post-party.png

The SpeakUp5k ends with a festive party at the finish line. It is a celebration of each person’s individual achievement that day, as well as a celebration that together we are impacting the community by increasing understanding of mental illness.
